Taking on the Challenge of E-commerce Optimization

I took on the UX challenge of designing a skincare landing page to gain hands-on experience in web design and e-commerce optimization. By conducting competitive analysis and designing high-fidelity prototypes, I addressed usability pain points to create a modern, intuitive shopping experience.

“How might we optimize the skincare shopping experience to boost user

engagement and conversion rates?”

SOLUTION

I designed a clean, sophisticated interface to boost engagement and conversion, emphasizing effortless navigation and a visually appealing product showcase.

  • Improved CTA visibility with bold, high-contrast buttons and strategic placement to boost conversions.

  • Enhanced credibility with star ratings and customer reviews.

  • Added video previews on hover for dynamic engagement and used a clean, modern aesthetic to guide users through the experience.

Crafting a Clean and Intuitive Skincare Experience That Drives Conversions

I redesigned the Haru Skincare landing page to boost engagement and conversions by

creating a clean, modern aesthetic, clearly showcasing product benefits, and guiding users toward subscriptions with strategic discount callouts.

RESEARCH & ANALYSIS

Visual Hierarchy Issues: The lack of contrast and weak CTA visibility made the page feel dull and uninviting.


Unclear Value Proposition: Product benefits weren't highlighted effectively, making it harder for users to see why they should purchase.


Subscription Confusion: Discounts and subscription options were buried, leaving users unsure about their choices.


Aesthetic Mismatch: The design didn’t reflect a modern, sophisticated skincare brand, making it feel outdated and disconnected from user expectations.

  • Hero sections from competitors feature strong, benefit-driven headlines and clear CTAs like "Discover Hydro Boost."

  • Trust signals (e.g., "Clinically Proven") enhance credibility and build consumer confidence.

  • Action-oriented CTA language is more engaging than generic phrases like "Click Here."

CONCLUSION & TAKEAWAYS

Redesigning Haru Skincare’s landing page in a 3-day time frame challenged me to create a clean, conversion-focused design. By enhancing CTA clarity, building trust signals, and highlighting product benefits, I crafted an engaging user experience.
